No time to lose

There can be no two opinions about the veracity of the statement that the modern age is the age of Facebook. Facebook undoubtedly has revolutionized the world. Every day there are new statements, may that be prince anonymous talking about politics, or a super shayiri (poetry) of Bin. Modern man using this latest technology in this contemporary age has been given to him by the scientific advancement.

He cannot live without science; oh! Sorry without Facebook a single day. Facebook has given eyes to the blind, Ear to the deaf and limbs to the crippled. People are flying in the sky like birds, swimming in the water like fish. Human suffering and pain have been lessened by Facebook. Modern civilized man has not to suffer like his forefather. They need only to post on Facebook, weather they are feeling sick, surprised or happy. Yes you can even post the dead body of your beloved. You may get wonderful comments and rain of likes. Many expression buttons have now been discovered and man’s life on this earth has become longer and happier.

One of the projects on human agenda in 21st century is to find the key to happiness.

For Epicurus the pursuit of happiness was a personal quest. Modern youth in contrast, tend to see it as a collective project. Without Facebook individuals will not get far in their quest for happiness. If your country is torn apart by terrorism, if the economy is in crisis and if health care is not existent. If you are not posting on face book on that situation, you are likely to be miserable.

Jeremy Bentham declared that the supreme good is “the greatest happiness of the greatest number” and concluded that the sole worthy aim of the state and the scientific community is to increase the Wi-Fi signals for global happiness.

The scientists and scholars should study not for the greater glory of the elites or country but so that the youth could enjoy a happier life.

Time has so changed from misery to greater happiness. There was 14th August 70 year ago and here is a 14th August seventy years later. The difference is luminous clear. The father of the nation celebrated the day without internet and so the people at the time. Thanks to Facebook today every DP and posts from Karachi to Chitral shows the development of the country in the developing world.

Socrates rightly examined the situation and said “Unexamined life was not worth living”.

The recent changes in almost every field of life we have become less secure more volatile and far less predictable. The work style has changed. The work force around the globe has become worried of endless competitions.

The changing times need a changing response. The key things the youth of our beloved country is not to focus on Facebook this day but they needs to do and know in order to manage his career and the future. Where the survival is only for the fittest the youth needs to know where are they stands now? Where do they want to be? How will they get there? What skills will they need to be there?

We are in a state of war. Every youth is the soldier and protector of this country. We have no time to lose.

In the words of General Douglas McArthur “the history of failure in war can be summed up in two words: Too late. Too late in comprehending the deadly purpose of a potential enemy; too late in realizing the mortal danger; too late in preparedness; too late in uniting all possible forces for resistance; too late in standing with one’s friends.

Our adversaries understand our weakness too well. We cannot win it unless we understand the nature of the war.

The country is confronted with two cold realities. The first, if war is to come, we may lose. the second is that we may lose are defeated without war.  The second is almost grim. The danger facing by the country is not of direct confrontation or any nuclear holocaust but  is of drifting in to a situation in which we will have no choice between surrender and suicide. The danger can still be averting, but the time in which we can avert it is rapidly running out. I repeat we have no time to lose.
