2 Megawatt Hydro power house of SRSP play vital role in solving energy crises

CHITRAL:  On the demand of residents of Chitral town Sarhad Rural Support Program (SRSP) completed two megawatt hydro power house at Golain valley. Its power generation has started before Ramzan but due to some technical fault and non cooperative behavior of PESCO staff people face some problems due to non supplying of power. Hence after proper agreement with PESCO staff it supply electricity to different areas of  Chitral town.

The power house have two unit of 1 MW each and running 24 hours. Engineer Shafiqur Rehman told this scribe that this is latest power house which is totally controlling computerize and generate power upto 2 megawatt. At evening time there were load only 1.3 megawatt. Shafiq told that as load enhance it increase its production (electricity). He said that they supply electricity in two  parts in first part they provide 1 megawatt to Danin Bazar etc and 1 megawatt to Jang Bazar and other villages. HE said that its distribution is responsibility of Pesco staff they only give them power generation.

Local source told that WAPDA (PESCO) staff on the gesture of some politician not cooperating and they trying to fail this power house. Even they not cut branches of trees which disturb main transmission line causing for line losses and tripping the power supply again and again.

Haji Manan of Chitral town said that they were facing great problems due to longest load shedding but now after completion of 2 MW power house by SRSP they got relief.

General councilor Fida Muhammad said that their children were reading in dark due to non availability of electricity but now they reading in light. Although people facing some problems due to non cooperative behavior of PESCO staff but this power house provide 2 megawatt electricity to different areas of Chitral town. Some 12000 consumers benefiting from this power house.
